Smell Divine with ASTIER de VILLATTE

“Scent should make a person dream and travel through time—and above all, should smell divine.”

-Astier de Villatte

New scents from Astier de Villatte—the artisanal, ultrachic home line by Parisian designers Ivan Pericoli and Benoît Astier de Villatte.

BON TON goods now carries nine colognes from Astier de Villatte:

Eau de Cologne, a fresh splash that would energize and enliven even Sleeping Beauty. Frank, direct, addictive, it is each morning’s shockwave. Fusing verbena, aromatic lavender, rosemary, basil, and the lightness of a flower note. Add a trace of benzoin for long-lasting freshness.

Eau Fugace, like a flash of lightning, an incisive and dainty fusion inside a cocktail of citrus, sweet orange, the most elegant bergamot, and lemon’s greenest accents. And, as it develops on the skin, it becomes increasingly appealing, with a mouth-watering note of aromatic herbs and patchouli, like clean sunshine.

Commune de Paris, hits like an explosion of Sicily lemons, with rosemary and bergamot. But under its acid and cheeky exterior, Cologne 1871 hides the ineffable charm of the powdery scents characteristic of its time. Suave labdanum, benzoin, cedar wood and patchouli are combined with the first two synthetic molecules ever created by man – coumarin that smells like cut grass, and benzalehide that smells like almonds – giving it a unique flavour.

Mantes-la-Jolie Perfume, a delicious scent of freshly-picked aromatic herbs: mint and bergamot, with its distinctly lemony aroma, the crisp, green notes of eucalyptus leaves and fig mingled with the honeyed fragrance of spicy ginger, sun-drenched Arabian jasmine and herbaceous maté.

Tucson, the intoxicating fragrance of strawflowers from the maquis and sun-heated dunes, the aromatic and slightly animal notes of thyme; scents of red earth scorched with the heat of birch mingle with the delicious smell of sweet amber exhaled by the resin from the cistus labdanum, a shrub from Mediterranean countries.

Delhi, a divine fragrance fills the air: a gust of heady, sun-kissed champaca, warm, sensual myrrh, the woody, smoky, earthy accents of patchouli and vetiver, mingled with the sweet notes of rose petals, peppery cardamom and fruity green bergamot.

Brazil’s lush landscape inspired Splash, a sweet sensation of bitter orange mixed with a woody blend of bergamot, cedar, and oak moss plus a few spicy notes.

Grand Chalet pays homage to French-Polish artist Balthus, recalling his favorite scents of linden flowers, honey, and milk with citrus hints of lemon and lime.

Elixir is a dreamed-up version of an ancient and forgotten medicinal potion with warm and earthy concentrates like wormwood, clove, and fresh lavender.
